This monthly workshop will be organized by Julien and focus on Web Components. It replaces the meetup from two weeks ago that was cancelled because I was sick (https://www.meetup.com/Coffee-Code-and-Chat/events/244822183/).

You can read more about Web Components here : https://www.webcomponents.org/introduction. In short, Web Components allow you to create your own embeddable HTML tags. Web Components are an actual standard, which means that you do not need to use any specific framework or libraries to create them and are supported by any recent browser.

This Meetup is a workshop, which means that you are expected to bring your own laptop and will perform hands-on exercises.

During the workshop we will :

  • Go through what Web Components are, and what makes them interesting
  • See Pros and Cons of using Web Components in production
  • Build our first Web Components
  • See how others can use components we have created
  • An example of framework that makes creating Web Components easier.

• What to bring
Requirements for the workshop :

  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • A laptop with an up to date version of Firefox, Chrome, IE9 :P
  • A Git client
  • If possible node and python installed so you can run a webserver :).

• Important to know
If you have ideas or questions that can make this workshop better, please do let us know :).
Ideas are most welcome.
