Open Telemetry has become the vendor-neutral standard for collecting and processing observability data. We will explore the key components of Open Telemetry, including its SDKs, semantic conventions, and collector, and demonstrate how to get started by instrumenting an application to collect metrics and traces in a standardized format and use them in your observability tool of choice.
