DropWizard – the app server is dead! Long live the app server!

Dropwizard aims to package Java applications including libraries to run them so it becomes easy to deploy.

In this workshop we will first discuss the ideas and setup of Dropwizard and then walk through a tutorial that shows how to build and deploy Dropwizard applications. We will conclude the evening by discussing how Dropwizard differs from traditional JEE servers like Weblogic and Websphere on the one hand and Linux virtualization solutions like Docker on the other.

If you bring your own laptop to the meeting you can hack along.
