Dutch Language Cafe open night with games! [Natives & Beginners welcome!]

At the Dutch Language Café, our core mission is to help people feel at home in The Hague, by providing opportunities to learn the local language, meeting new people and expand your network and do fun and interesting activities!

Do you like to:
* Meet new people and make new friends from all over the world
* Learn Dutch or help others speak Dutch
* Do interesting activities such as cooking, movie nights, museum visits, canoo rides, barbecues, yoga, knitting, reading books, playing tennis, skating, jam sessions, movie nights, co-working, knitting, laser gaming, birthday parties, ping pong tournaments and so on
* Like to learn and grow as a person by becoming active in a community?

Then the Dutch Language Cafe is something for you!

- THIS ACTIVITY -
Tonight is our open night! Everyone is welcome, natives, Dutch learners, beginners or advanced speakers, it doesn't matter!

The idea is to get to know the Dutch Language Cafe, who we are, how it all works and if is something for you :). And - of course - we combine it with a fun night of playing board games so you can experience our philosophy of combining Dutch learning with interesting activities!

19:30 Door open - come in for a social chat
20:00 Get-to-know-each-other activity
20:15 Small presentation about Dutch Language Cafe
20:30 Split in groups and play board games!
21:30 Those who want can stay for ping pong or just chat
22:00 End of activity :)

- WHAT TO BRING -
We offer free coffee/tea/lemonade and small snacks (cookies/chips). You are free to bring something special to share (snacks/drinks and so on) but it is not required :).

- DUTCH LEVEL -
Anyone is welcome! Are you a beginner in learning Dutch? No worries! This activity is also open for (complete) beginners! We make a special beginners group, and during this event, it is also ok to speak some English if that makes you more comfortable :).

If, as a beginner, you then decide to join the community, we offer a special beginners program to help you quickly get confident speaking Dutch in our community :). So just join and start your Dutch learning journey :).

- NATIVE SPEAKERS -
Is Nederlands je moedertaal? Je bent ook van harte welkom! Voor jou kan het Dutch Language Café een plek zijn waar je nieuwe mensen ontmoet van over de hele wereld, leuke activiteiten doet, een veilige plek om jezelf te ontplooien en talenten te ontwikkelen, en daarnaast is het gewoon erg fijn om anderen te kunnen helpen met de taal :).

- COSTS -
We kindly ask an entry fee of 7.50 to cover costs (rent/materials). Free drinks (coffee/tea/lemonade) are included! Native speakers pay only 4.00 as an appreciation for their help with the language.

But if paying online is difficult for you, you can also pay with PIN/cash at the location :).

We are a community of about 100 members, both natives and Dutch learners. Together, we do interesting activities, and practice speaking Dutch while doing those activities! Highlights of previous activities are: and much more!

Most activies are organised by members for other members! So, if you have an idea or hobby, the Dutch Language Cafe can also be a place to develop your passion by organising activities of your own!
