Pre event WebPerfDays #1: Avoid End-to-End Performance Problems
Details
Hi everybody,
We hope you had a wonderful summer! In the run-up to Velocity Conference & WebPerfDays Amsterdam, we will organize 3 Meetups in the coming months.
Whatever app you build – whatever company you work for: You don’t want to screw it up because you didn’t think about performance.
We collected the top end-to-end performance problems that caused apps such as FIFA Worldcup, Healthcare.gov and others to go down. It ranges from bad JavaScript coding, bad usage of Hibernate or memory leaks introduced by 3rd party frameworks.
In this session we look at real life data from companies Andi Grabner worked with and derive what we all can learn from these mistakes others ran into. It all boils down to that we must never assume that somebody else did our homework!
Agenda
6:00 PM - Doors open 6:30 PM - Opening and introduction - Jeroen Tjepkema, MeasureWorks
6:40 PM - Avoid these End-to-End Performance Problems to keep you out of the News (Andi Grabner)
Andi Grabner (@grabnerandi (http://twitter.com/grabnerandi)), Evangelist at Dynatrace (http://www.dynatrace.com/), worked in Software Performance his whole professional life. Started as a tester and then developer and architect on the Silk product line of Segue (later Borland). Then switched over to the "other side" and instead of breaking apps looked into why apps break under load with Dynatrace. He is in the fortunate situation that he get to talk with a lot of companies that take performance serious and that share their experience which he eventually uses for blog material (http://apmblog.compuware.com/) or meetups.
8:00 PM - Drinks & networking
Our friends at O’Reilly have provided us with free tickets for Velocity Conference Amsterdam and other goodies to raffle at the meetup. So don't miss this!
We look forward to see you!
