Back to the Flax Workshop – From Flax to Linen
Details
Every material has an origin
Join Back to the Flax collective and experience how people once crafted their own fabrics.
Step back in time and experience what it was like when people made their own fabrics from start to finish. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll follow the journey of flax. From plant growing in the field to the strong, beautiful thread that forms the foundation of linen textiles.
Together with Back to the Flax, a collective of passionate Design Academy Eindhoven students, you’ll be guided through each traditional step of the process. You’ll work directly with the plant, reconnect with the roots of linen, and discover how to spin the material from plant to thread.
This is more than a workshop, it’s a chance to slow down, reconnect with the roots of linen-making, and discover how handcraft can inspire sustainable, mindful design today.
