Dekkerswald and Heumensoord Forest Walk (15km)

This circular walk begins at Nijmegen Heyendaal train station and takes us through some forests to the south of Nijmegen.

We’ll walk through Brakkenstein park, then a tranquil botanical garden (Stichting Hortus), then into the Dekkerswald woodland estate. Further south we will walk through the north part of the Groesbeekbos and stop for refreshments at the Boscafé de Zweef. Then we walk northward again through the pine forests of the Heumensoord and the leafy University grounds to get back to the station.

The walk is mostly flat, but features mostly rough/uneven paths so it is recommended to wear sturdy walking shoes. As always, remember to bring water and maybe some snacks.
