Wat we doen

Flutter Hollands is a meetup group for Flutter developers and Flutter enthusiasts in The Netherlands, for example in the western and southern part. Together with Flutter Twente (who serves the east of the country) we're part of the Flutter Netherlands community (e.g. on Slack and social media).

We strive to be an open community where everybody can share their knowledge and ideas to inform, inspire and encourage each other to use Flutter in any way we can.

We aim to organize a meetup every month and we do this in various cities (e.g. Amsterdam, Utrecht, Zaandam, Eindhoven). Meetups can be typical presentation style meetups, but we also want to be open and spontaneous in hosting workshops, lightning talks or just get together to meetup, have a chat, share experiences and do some Flutter coding.

We are always looking for nice meetup locations, so if your company is doing something with Flutter and want to help host a meetup please get in touch!

And in case you want to start another Flutter meetup group in the Netherlands to cover your (possibly local) needs, you're always welcome to join Flutter Netherlands.

    AFAS 💙 Flutter

AFAS Theater, Inspiratielaan 3, 3833 AV, Leusden, NL

For this meetup we are visiting the startling AFAS Theater in Leusden. We will hear how AFAS is using Flutter to get their AFAS Pocket app into the 4 to 5 stars area and have millions of downloads!

Besides that we are welcoming international Flutter community member and Flutter & Dart Google Developer Expert (GDE) Renan (NotANumber) at this meetup. Renan will talk about his adventures in creating liquid glass and adding other impressive UI effects to your apps. You don't want to miss this opportunity to see Renan in real life and pick his brain about some low level UI tricks.

    Short Talks
[As always we'd like to give you the stage for a 5-10 minutes Short Talk and share anything about Dart or Flutter that you like or have learned. If you're interested feel free to fill-in the question when you RSVP for this meetup, or contact one of the organizers or chime in at our
#call-for-presentations channel on Slack. This is your time to shine!]
Update: We're fully booked with short talks for this meetup. Please keep an eye out on future meetups for another chance to share your interest with the Flutter community!

    Agenda (under construction):
17.30 Walk-in with drinks (a bit sooner is fine as well)

18:55 “Our way of getting a happy user base” Dick Verweij - Tech Lead App development @ AFAS
In 2016, we launched AFAS Pocket, and since then, we've consistently maintained reviews above four stars. Our secret? Keeping the app and interface visually appealing and straightforward, without frequent changes. By cleverly packaging (or sometimes not-so-cleverly), we've established a standard within our apps that users seem to appreciate. Take a peek behind the scenes of the #1 business app in the Netherlands.

    The short talks:

    1. "Tapping into Machine Learning: How I Built a Magic Card Recognizer in Flutter"
Bas de Vaan - Flutter Developer @ MedApp
In the last year I've build a app that implements a Image Recognition Machine Learning Model in Flutter; and I'll share what I've learned and what I am still struggling with.
    2. "Per-Mutable State for Flutter BLoC with live_cells"
Korbinian "Korbi" Habereder CTO @ PersonalClientCare (PCC)
Ever wondered how to manage state in your Flutter app with unparalleled efficiency and reactivity? Combining the live_cells package with the BLoC pattern can create a dynamic, highly performant architecture.
    3. "Winning backend battles with Dart."
Rémon Helmond - CoFounder & CTO FalconMetrics
In this short talk, I will walk through the backend battles we faced while developing FalconMetrics and how we overcame them. From securely handling payments with Stripe and webhooks, to sending timely subscription reminders to users, to deploying safely to the cloud. I'll share practical solutions powered by Serverpod's features, plus actionable insights to help you conquer your own Dart backend challenges.
