### Sunday, July 5th: 't Twiske & Waterland Polders Tour 🌾🚴‍♂️

The Next Chapter! Join us for our very first ride in the brand-new Geografiets community model! Starting this July, we are changing things up to make our rides more frequent and scalable, while keeping the authentic, cozy vibe you love.

We’ll gather at Screaming Beans (Waterlooplein) to grab a coffee and get to know each other. Once the group is ready, the Ride Captains will lead the way!

### Practical Information

  • Meeting point: Screaming Beans, Waterlooplein at 10:00 AM
  • Departure: Around 10:30 AM (after introductions)
  • Distance: Approximately 30 km
  • Pace: Easy-going and social (around 15 km/h)
  • Cost: FREE to join! However, since our Ride Captains are volunteering their time to guide you, a voluntary tip afterwards is highly appreciated. 100% of the tips go directly to the Ride Captains!
  • Bring: Your own bike (or rental), clothing suitable for the weather, and enough water/snacks for along the way.

### The Route & Breaks

The Ride Captains will guide you through a beautiful 30 km loop heading North. We’ll cycle through the vibrant Amsterdam North district and escape into the countryside via the green meadows of Landsmeer. Our main destination is the scenic nature reserve of 't Twiske, where we will take a longer break to relax, chat, and enjoy the surroundings. Afterward, the route loops back toward Amsterdam.
Short breaks will be taken along the way to regroup and enjoy the views, with plenty of opportunities to grab a drink or use the restroom.

### About Geografiets

This isn’t a typical touristy bike tour full of scripted corporate stories, that’s just not our style. Even though I won't be cycling along with every regular ride anymore, my passion is baked into every route you take. As a geography teacher, I love designing routes that show you the authentic, hidden sides of Amsterdam and its surroundings.
Let’s enjoy a relaxed ride together, support our new Ride Captains, and make some great new friends! ☀️🚲

Please note: Participation is at your own risk. The organization/Route Architect is not liable for any accidents, damages, or lost items.
