Sunday Hike Route is Confirmed!🥾
Join us on a 16km route from Heiloo Station to Alkmaar Station, with plenty of shade (forest walk) and dog-friendly paths! 🌳🐾
We’ll explore classic Dutch nature, traditional houses, peaceful lakes, and windmills along the way 🇳🇱✨
To beat the heat, we’re planning an extra flexible break at De Maalwater: where you can chill, eat/drink near the lake, or explore the country side. (No restaurant there, so bring your own food & drinks! After this back, we will go back on the trail.
When we reach Alkmaar (10 km), we’ll stop for lunch at the cozy Villa Zoethout, with pancakes, sandwiches, and ice cream near an animal farm where you can pet cute animals 🍦🥞
Feeling tired? You can end the hike early at the restaurant and walk straight to Alkmaar Station (11km total) or continue with us through the countryside (windmills area) to complete the full 16km route
Whether you're here to stretch your legs, take photos, or meet new people, this is a relaxed and welcoming hike open to all levels. Dogs are welcome too!
Reminder: Hike means long walk. The walk is going to take long (15-17km), but we will have enough breaks to take pictures and eat.

- Meeting Point: Amsterdam Central Station (Intercity leaves at 9:09 from platform 7a) or Heiloo Station at 9:45
- Final Point: Alkmaar City
- What to bring:
- Water and snacks
- A camera (or phone camera) if you’d like to take photos
- Comfortable walking shoes (it can be hilly)
- Sun protection
- A good mood! 😊
Other info:
- Dogs are welcome! But keep them on a leash in some areas
- This is a casual, inclusive, and creative meetup. no photography experience needed.
- Expect easy to moderate walking paths and lots of opportunities to enjoy nature and snap beautiful pictures.
