Winter Solstice / Full Moon - Sleeping Beauty B2C

Details
Once again, let's celebrate the winter solstice by doing a late afternoon hike to Sleeping Beauty Mountain in Lake George. We will meet in Malta at the exit 12 Park and Ride at 1:00 pm and assemble at the parking lot on Shelving Rock Rd. around 2:00 pm. From there I am hoping we can drive to Dacy Clearing Parking lot and begin our hike around 2:15. This will get us to the top of Sleeping Beauty around 4:00 and watch the sunset. We will proceed down to Bump's Pond and then head back to parking lot for a bonfire.
There is a spot near the parking lot for a bonfire where everyone can meet and enjoy some holiday treats and stories.
I am asking everyone to bring a snack or drink to share. We've done this a few times in the past and had a great time. Cookies, cheese and crackers, pretzels, trail mix, are just a few suggestions. Having the bonfire near the parking lot will enable us to leave our food and drinks in the car and not have to hike it in.
As with every hike, especially this time of year, please dress for the weather and be sure to dress in layers.
Since this hike will end in the dark, headlamps/flashlights will be required. I am anticipating being back at the Dacy Clearing parking lot approx. 5:30-6:00 pm. We may not leave for a couple of hours afterward, so please note that we may be getting back to Malta around 9:00 or so, depending on the weather and how long the firewood lasts.
If there is a chance of inclement weather, I will reschedule this after the holidays in January.
