Ministry of Food - story-driven serious game about the food landscape

Ministry of Food is a research project by BRIGHT | The Cloud Collective, Werkend Landschap, Different Company and Lava Lab. The project shows the relation of the changes in our food landscape with choices consumers make. The result of the research is a design concept for a serious game that will start it’s development later this year.

This evening the Ministry of Food team will launch their research results in the form of a magazine.

Raw Data Cafe - dinner by Giacomo Boffo and Tommaso Buresti

Giacomo Boffo and chef Tommaso Buresti (http://bird-rotterdam.nl/magazine/even-voorstellen-de-nieuwe-chefs-van-bird/) of Raw Data Cafe will create a special storytelling experience through food, presenting the results of the Minister of Food research project.

Raw Data Cafe is a design project about presenting statistic data through food. Initiated in 2015, it has appeared in several art and design events around the Netherlands, and it has proposed so far sensitive urban, social and economic figures about the Netherlands and Europe.

Algae refinery- Corjan van den Berg

Corjan van den Berg is assistant professor at Wageningen University & Research. Within the Bioprocess Engineering group he is focussing on converting next generation feedstocks into multiple products using biorefineries. He will share with us his story of the disruptive influence of large scale algae production on our food landscape.

Farmhack and Hallo Boer!

Farmhack
Farmhack creates on-farm hackathons to encourage collaboration and cooperation between hackers, designers and farmers by working on challenges in the food landscape and farming industries.

Anne Bruinsma is one of the founders of Farmhack and will show us why farmhacking is important and what the results are.

Hallo Boer!
Hallo Boer! is the winner of one of the farmhacks, acting on the challenge to bring locally produced food closer to the city. It visualises the food landscape in your area, combined with the stories of the farmers and their products.

Peter Hermens and Klasien van de Zandschulp will show you their experience at the Farmhack and they will show how they aim to use storytelling as a powerful tool to get the farmer closer to the consumers.

The Ministry of Food project is supported by the Creative Industries Fund.
