Szilvia Rotyik & Sav Suseno, Hunkemöller & Rittman Analytics - Building the Single Version of Truth: How Hunkemöller Rebuilt Its Analytics Foundation
A near real-time Store Productivity dashboard is the visible result. The real story is the single version of truth underneath it â not the dashboard, but the data layer: the entities and models every analysis draws from. In this joint session, Hunkemöller and Rittman Analytics walk through rebuilding the analytics foundation for a 700-store European retailer â why it was worth changing the legacy model and coding style, how stakeholders were brought on board, and how disagreements between source systems were resolved once in the model so every reader inherits the same answer. With that foundation in place, the dashboard is just the first of many things you can build: more analytics, advanced analysis, and AI features all sit on top of the same trusted layer.
About the Speakers
Szilvia is the BI Product Owner at Hunkemöller and leads the company's Analytics Engineering and Looker teams. She is responsible for shaping the analytics vision, defining the BI roadmap, and ensuring business needs are translated into scalable, trusted data products. With more than 10 years of experience in analytics, she focuses on empowering users through self-service data, driving adoption of modern BI practices, and delivering measurable business value through data.
Hunkemoller partnered with Rittman Analytics to bring the new analytics stack into production.
Leo Koster, Michiel Vervark & Alexander Noteboom, VOGSY - Building embedded analytics in VOGSY with Looker
VOGSY is a Google Cloud-native ERP. To provide our users with integrated reporting capabilities without forcing them to leave their application workflow, we built VOGSY Dashboards. This session covers the technical implementation of this embedded BI layer using Looker and BigQuery.
We will discuss the architectural decisions behind this integration, focusing on:
- The business context: why our existing data exports and static reporting were no longer sufficient, driving the move to an embedded analytics model.
- Architecture overview: embedding Looker into the host application using SSO and Google Cloud infrastructure.
- LookML implementation: modeling complex business data to support user-driven filtering and drill-downs.
- Demonstration: a brief technical walkthrough of the deployed dashboards.
We will share practical insights and technical lessons learned that are relevant to developers and data engineers working on embedding Looker into their own applications.
About the Speakers
Leo Koster, Michiel Vervark, and Alexander Noteboom represent the leadership and technical core of VOGSY, a pioneering Professional Services Automation (PSA) and ERP platform built exclusively on Google Cloud. Together, this trio brings decades of combined expertise in SaaS, cloud computing, and enterprise data solutions.
The team is led by Leo Koster, the founder of VOGSY, who brings over 35 years of experience in the IT industry and launched his first enterprise-class online SaaS ERP solution in 2001. He is joined by Michiel Vervark, VOGSY's dedicated Product Owner, who has been driving product strategy and shaping user-centric software since 2001. Rounding out the group is Alexander Noteboom, a Senior Software Developer and systems engineering expert with extensive experience in cloud integrations and data security. At today's event, they will combine their strategic vision and technical depth to share how VOGSY leverages Google Cloud and Looker to deliver powerful, data-driven intelligence for global businesses.
Janno Mostert, Devoteam - Beyond Static Comparisons: How to Build a Scalable, Reusable PoP Framework in Looker
Looker is incredibly powerful for day-to-day data exploration, but delivering dynamic Period-over-Period (PoP) reporting that satisfies both massive data tables and compact executive KPI cards often leads to dashboard sprawl or cluttered layouts. How do you build a comparison solution that doesn't just solve a problem for one report, but scales cleanly across your entire analytics environment?
In this session, Janno Mostert will walk you through a custom, enterprise-grade PoP framework engineered for maximum reusability. You will discover how to leverage smart metadata routing and flexible parameter toggles to give dashboard creators a true plug-and-play experience. Learn how to overcome platform formatting limitations to deliver a seamless, scalable comparison model that simplifies self-service analytics for your users.
