Mendix and Machine Learning

Although AI and Machine Learning are all around us, the world of Artifical Intelligence and Machine learning can still be overwhelming, even from the perspective of a Mendix developer. In our daily life it is impossible to ignore AI and Machine Learning. It is there whenever we take a picture or create applications using Mendix Assist.

During this meetup we will give you an introduction into the area of Machine Learning. What is it? How can you use and apply it? And most importantly, how to incorporate it into your Mendix app. We will show you how to use a trained machine learning model and execute it within Mendix.

We have an interesting case, from both a business and technical viewpoint, coming out of our Conclusion ecosystem. Our expert colleagues from Future Facts (HotItem) create, train, and implement ML models in a wide range of organizations. They are front runners in the market. For example they embedded ML into cameras to determine objects and their spacing. For this Mendix meetup we have decided to join forces.

To put the theory into practice, we have created an application which incorporates a model and can be executed within the context of the Mendix application and requires no further integration with an external system. There will be a walkthrough of the solution so you can get started as well.

At Low Code Company we have a lot of whisky lovers. In our search we discovered a whisky label that has used AI to create a whisky: Mackmyra in Sweden. For fun and a better understanding of how AI can replace the time-consuming process of whisky creation we’ve asked the makers to give us a short heads up on their story.
