[CANCELED/see comments] 'Maggie's Nest' Arts and Crafts Afternoon!

Hello!
I finally welcome you all to 'Maggies Nest'; A creative space that focuses on actively working on our wellbeing and mental health using arts and crafts, and building stronger connections with people to attempt to end the epidemic of loneliness in this city, and create some beautiful art in the process!!

I am a true advocate and cheerleader of art/creativity being therapy (it is my daily therapy!!!) and creating this space has been my aim for SO long, and now we are finally doing it! yay! so I welcome you all, and would love all your feedback, and input of ideas. We will work together, and grow this little Nest into something wonderful and enriching.

where: Plan C (see map) have happily welcomed us into their community centre to use their space to meet, get creative, share ideas, and also welcome people from their own community into this Nest. (they also have a wonderful open garden open 10-1 every saturday morning!!!)

what we will do:
Create art!!
Please do not be intimidated by this idea- art comes in many forms, shapes and sizes. My art is different to your art, and that's great! There are no rules here, or even any talents expected! just to have an open mind, and open heart, and be willing to get a little messy, and vulnerable with that side of your personality. It works wonders, trust me!

possible ideas: Depending on the individual/group, we can be completely self guided, or have a group direction/task.
Each month we could have a volunteer who could teach us a new technique (knitting, painting, sewing, sketching, etc etc) some people might appreciate guidance, others may not! We will always be open to ideas and it can be discussed in the week leading up!!

materials: We have kindly been provided with some basic materials from PLAN C! ! But please bring anything else you fancy experimenting with/whatever your artistic medium is! Or just bring yourself and a sketch book :)

Tea and coffee are provided, and you are welcome to bring some snacks/cakes/lunch with you (it can be hungry work!)

To anybody that can afford to do so- there is also a voluntary donations box that enables Plan C to offer us the free materials, and drinks- any small donations are hugely welcome just to say a small thankyou.
