Mindful Minimalistic Living: Lessons from Thai Monastery for Living in Amsterdam

Details
Hello everyone,
Do you ever feel that despite living in a vibrant city like Amsterdam, the constant pull of more – more stuff, more notifications, more to-do lists – leaves you feeling overwhelmed rather than enriched? What if the path to more freedom, clarity, and purpose wasn't about adding, but about intentionally removing?
Join me for an evening dedicated to exploring Mindful Minimalism. As a teacher of minimalist living, my approach is not about stark, empty rooms or rigid rules. It’s about consciously choosing what we value most and creating space for a more meaningful life. This philosophy has been a cornerstone of my personal journey, cultivated through my time in monasteries and my daily mindfulness practice.
This Meetup will be half insightful lecture and half open discussion, designed to give you both practical tools and a sense of community.
In this session, we will explore:
- Core Lessons from the Monastery: Discover the key principles of detachment and contentment I learned from the Thai Forest monks and how they directly apply to our consumer-driven world.
- The "Why" of Minimalism: We'll move beyond decluttering and discuss how living with less can lead to greater mental clarity, financial freedom, and deeper self-awareness.
- The Amsterdam Minimalist's Toolkit: I will share practical, city-specific tips and tricks for living a more minimalist life in Amsterdam, from navigating grocery shopping mindfully to decluttering a small Dutch apartment and finding joy in the city's abundant non-material experiences.
- Mindfulness as the Foundation: Learn simple techniques to become more aware of your habits and make more intentional choices every day.
