Hello friends,
This time, we’re heading east for a truly Dutch countryside adventure filled with riverside views, charming villages, forests, picnics, mud, and a little bit of chaos 🌿🚲

We’ll meet in Deventer at 10:00. Deventer is one of the oldest and most beautiful towns in the Netherlands, known for its medieval streets, cozy atmosphere, and lovely location along the IJssel river. Before or after our adventure, there is a chance to explore the city in its bloom.

From there, we’ll embark on a special 34 km cycling journey along the IJssel river. Expect peaceful farming landscapes, tiny villages, endless greenery, and those incredibly charming Dutch views that make you feel like you’re inside a painting.

Our first stop will be around 11:00 in the countryside near Wilp, where we’ll have coffee in a very special hidden spot surrounded completely by nature. After that, we’ll continue cycling through forests and countryside roads before stopping for a picnic at Het Bussloo.

And then… the real adventure begins 👣

We’re heading to the barefoot path in Buitenpost.
Kick off your shoes, because this barefoot trail is a whopping 2.5 kilometers long! What awaits you? Obstacles, mud, water, bamboo forest paths, swamps, vineyards, and lots of laughter. The barefoot walk costs €7, paid directly at the location.
After surviving the mud and embracing our inner wild creatures, we’ll celebrate with beers at a local proeflokaal before cycling back to Deventer station. We should finish around 18:00.

Short itinerary:
10:00 – Meeting with bikes in Deventer and Start cycling along the IJssel river
~11:00 – Coffee break near Wilp in nature
Cycling through countryside & forest areas
~13:00 – Picnic at Het Bussloo
Cycling through countryside & forest areas
~15:00 – Barefoot path adventure in Buitenpost (€7 entry)
~16:00 – Beer at a local proeflokaal 🍺
~18:00 – Return to Deventer station

Bikes:
You’ll need a bike for this trip. You can either bring your own bike or rent an OV-fiets at Deventer station.

What to bring:
– Water and snacks
– Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
– A towel and maybe extra socks/shoes after the barefoot path
– Picnic snacks if you’d like to share something
– Sunscreen and sunglasses if the weather is nice
