The HLC is a monthly Meetup, which takes place at different cosy locations in Haarlem. Like this you get to know Haarlem, meet locals and people from all over the world, make new friends and practise languages! The HLC leaves nothing to be desired!

We practise 6 different languages at 6 tables, namely German, English, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish and French! You will easily recognize where you can speak which language as the table flags are indicating them clearly. Icebreaker questions in several languages will be available on the tables to get the conversations going.

This time we are in the Stayokay, a nice hostel in the North of Haarlem. The bar is reserved for the HLC as well as the lovely terrace where we can enjoy the language exchange under the parasols next to the Schoterbos!

Come and practise your favourite language, meet like-minded people, make new friends and have a good time! Beginners, intermediate and advanced learners as well as native speakers are all welcome to join this event!

As always, drinks are available at the bar (at own expense). FREE SNACKS will be offered by the hostel!

Programme:

15:45 Doors open. Please go to the bar, which is
reserved for the HLC!
16:00 – 19:00 Language exchange at 6 tables, at each table
you can speak another language. Choose
from German, English, Spanish, Dutch,
Swedish and French.

Spanish workshop:

There will be a Spanish workshop at the Spanish table given by a native speaker. Discover the Spanish language and enjoy the workshop!

Dutch workshop 2 of 20 (A1 level):

Start: 4:00 pm
End: 5:30 pm

There will be a Dutch workshop at the Dutch table for absolute beginners (A1 level) and those who would like to refresh their knowledge and support their (new) friends & co-learners to improve their Dutch. Of course we will be happy to have some native speakers at the Dutch table as support and to clarify doubts of the language learners right away in the group.

This is the second of 20 workshops, which brings you from A1 to A2 level. The topic of this workshop is: "Hoe gaat het?" – make a small talk in Dutch, introduce someone to another person, practise the numbers and get to know new people.

The aim of this workshop is to offer an alternative to common Dutch lessons offered in conventional schools. Learn Dutch together with your friends in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere. In this workshop series we focus on contents and communication. That will enable you to use the language right away in everyday situations.

Costs:

5 EUR. To be put into my „honesty box“, a little grey basket. Please find the basket standing on the barrel in the bar. Your contribution for the organization of this event is highly appreciated! Cheers!
