The digital Bug Fest is a generative art project for public spaces. Inspired by the theme “Technology and Life” of the evening exhibition of Highlight Festival 2023, our workshop would give you the chance to have your digital bug become part of this exhibition held in 2023 in Delft. Let's bring art, nature, and technology together to see how we can shape the ideas of the future! 🚀

The workshop
During the workshop, you will learn how to create your own coded insects and visualize plants. We are also introducing coding as a creative tool instead of an unattractive activity for nerds. Bugs come from the world of programmers and also take place in nature as a driver of evolution. For the period of half a year, online and offline generative design workshops are organized for the exhibition. Digitally unique biodiversity is designed and animated via the Processing platform.

Have you had no experience with coding, or you are already an expert in the field?
This event is open for everyone to join and be creative with us!

The festival
From the 2019 edition of the HighLight Festival, the team behind the installation gained experience with holding workshops where the results are incorporated into an exhibition. This edition of the festival (2023) offers animation, theme, professional editing as an extension to a light show, and projection mapping on existing buildings in the city centre of Delft using bugs created in the workshop.
