Do you ever think of your life as a story? And if so, what would it tell? Are you in the middle or at the beginning? Have you restarted? Has your story finished or collapsed? When we ask these kinds of questions, we express a search for meaning - a thread, an arc, that would capture all the little and big things we have experienced - the things that make us us. But what is really behind our need for a story? Why are we attracted to stories so much? Are the stories we tell truly ours? And do they need to be?

The Philosophy Salons are gatherings of curious people to explore big ideas with an open mind. The Philosophy Salons are organized by Anya Farennikova, a philosopher of mind based in Amsterdam. We dive deep into beliefs and ideas, dive out, and have fun along the way!
