Common sense is… not that common, actually. Our human brain is very good at filling in blanks. We cannot see, hear, understand, and process all information that is available to us all the time. It would drive us mad. Our brain has some nifty shortcuts for this, and these work well. Most of the time. However, when these shortcuts do not produce truthful or at least useful outcomes, we let ourselves be tricked by our own minds.

Un-trick your mind along with me. I’m not promising you will never fall for these thinking traps again, but knowing about them helps you to learn and recognise them in real life. Which means you can take action to mitigate their effects.
