The PG Lowlands Warmup Meetup

Details
Dear all,
As you know, PGDay Lowlands is happening next Friday 13th of September. Registration is still open ( https://2024.pgday.nl/registration/ ).
However.....
before that, we want to warm up the venue with our third meetup of 2024 on the evening before the event, Thursday, September 12, starting at 18:00, in collaboration with PGDay Lowlands, and with the sponsoring help of EDB, offering pizza and drinks.
Whether you are going to attend PGDay Lowlands or not, this event is open to all our community as a great opportunity to chat with some of the speakers and other attendees.
We will start with a talk by Jonathan González, one of the main developers of CloudNativePG, who will talk about testing PostgreSQL with the operator, a talk that is well aligned with the “Testing PostgreSQL 17” initiative ( https://2024.pgday.nl/testing-pg/ ).
We will continue with a talk by Bilge Ince, Machine Learning Engineer of EDB, who will be talking about her journey as a ML engineer using PostgreSQL, and how she is helping to build the aidb extension.
We like to thank the organising committee of PG Lowlands for offering this great program.
Look forward meeting you there!
Program
18:00 Doors open, pizza and drinks
18:30 - 18:40 Welcome by PGDay Lowlands
18:45 - 19:15 “Testing a PostgreSQL Commitfest patch in Kubernetes”
By Jonathan Gonzalez (CloudNativePG)
"CloudNativePG is a kubernetes operator to manage the PostgreSQL lifecycle inside Kubernetes, most people will look at it as a Kubernetes tool only, but it can help also to quickly build and test a commit fest patch using the built-in E2E test the patch or just to build the image for later local use speeding up the process. The community provides a project that can be forked and used by anyone with a GitHub account, using the free tier runners for the entire automated process. From the community for the community"
19:30 - 20:00 “Exploring aidb: Machine Learning Extension for PostgreSQL”
By Bilge Ince (EDB)
In this talk, I want to explore the aidb extension that allows you to develop AI applications directly within PostgreSQL, with a demo of setting up and using a model.I'll showcase a demo app and evaluate the difference using pgvector directly.
