Join me for a relaxing nature walk to explore the beautiful Hunter Region Botanic Gardens at Heatherbrae, with its 125 hectares of stunning native plants, wildlife, and peaceful trails. Our Gardens guide will share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the different theme gardens with acacias, banksias, grevilleas, succulents, ferns and palms as well as bush tucker plantings. Together we’ll have time to chat with friends along the way and enjoy being surrounded by native bushland with large forest trees and many birds.

The Botanic Gardens is also an inspiring non-profit organisation of volunteers dedicated to plant conservation and protecting the natural environment. Their Visitor Centre has a cafe, gift shop and interesting reference library. After the walk we’ll have time to relax and enjoy conversation with coffee or something to eat in the Kookaburra Cafe.

This is a family friendly event. A people mover is also available if needed. Let me know prior to the day if you would like to make a booking.
Pets are not permitted.

Join me at the Visitor Centre at 10.00am.
Entry is $5 per person and the fee for our guide is $10 per person.

We’ll begin the walking tour at 10.15am and return to the Café before midday. The overall distance is about 1.5km on well graded and fairly flat paths. We’ll go ahead whether it’s sunny or raining.

Free car parking is available close to the Visitor Centre. Go through the boom gate and find a parking space. A token will be issued at the Visitor Centre to exit the carpark.

If you’re new to the area or been around forever come join me, Ross😄 For a morning surf (630am) out the front of the main car park (access 36) @ Sunrise beach and then coffee after (800am) @ the Chalet & co. When you rsvp for this event I will message you on Meetup and we can be in touch about the details. And pending the weather the location may change on the morning of the event so I will also be available in the Event chat on the morning and will be adding any updates there for you to see.

Beach Chalet Cafe

Join me for an afternoon walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens, it is a stunning environment to relax, explore, and make new connections in all seasons.
There are winding paths, groves, lakes, lawns and more than 8,500 species of plants. We will stop in at the Terrace cafe for takeaways, or bring your own drinks and snacks and we can stop for a chat on the lawns. Our walk will finish at the Shrine of Remembrance to see the beautiful views of the city.
This walk is rated easy, it is relatively flat and we will walk at a slow to moderate pace so we can socialise along the way. There are a few sections with stairs but there are alternative pathways close by.

I will meet you at 2pm near the Visitors Centre, 100 Birdwood Avenue. There is a map and photo of the meeting place below.
We will explore the gardens finishing up at the Shrine of Remembrance at 5pm.

Afternoon Walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens + Coffee on the Lawns

Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre

Join me for an early morning walk along Wellington's beautiful waterfront, followed by coffee together at one of the beach-side cafes. Browse the Sunday markets afterwards with food truck kai & live buskers

For people who enjoy a peaceful start to the day by the ocean and some warm company to enjoy afterwards, all within the creative, colourful, food paradise background of the Sunday Morning Markets.

Dogs are welcome and in winter Oriental Bay is leash-free, so they can enjoy a play on the beach.

The Harbourside Markets are Wellington's best weekly market, with a huge range of fresh produce stalls, artisan and conscious food producers, crafts and sweet treats as well as a mouthwatering range of food trucks serving the best street food and coffee, accompanied by fantastic live music artists.

AGENDA
We'll meet at 'Solace in the Wind' The Naked Man sculpture (pictured) at the back of Te Papa on the boardwalk. I'll be there from 7:45am and we start walking at 8:00am.
We'll walk across the bridge past the marina, follow the waterline by the boat sheds and out to the concrete slab headland for views, then along Oriental Bay to the fountain.
Depending on the weather and the group, on the way back we may wander on to the beach for a paddle or play with the dogs, if it's fine we can coffee at Gelissimo right on Freyberg beach, or be a little cosier inside at Raglan Roast. We finish at the markets for those that wish to browse, eat, shop and enjoy the live buskers.

\*We'll go ahead rain or shine! So bring whatever you need to be warm and dry :)

Come and join us at the Figgery cafe and shop and enjoy a great coffee and exciting selection of gluten free food. The cabinet is a fig frenzy of sweet and savoury delights, with a brunch and lunch menu also available. Great for those looking for something different from usual cafes.
Only five min drive from the Farmers Market in Hastings which could be a great stop before or after for getting your supply of fresh produce.
Follow the driveway and there is parking in front of the Cafe.
