**Hi Product People in Düsseldorf! 👋**

Everyone's now building and shipping products with GenAI. But the challenge still lies with understanding if and when and by how much is the use of GenAI paying off? 💰

Join us for an interesting panel discussion on the ROI of AI, in the products we build and in the teams that build them. We'll bring together product people and professionals that are building or have built such products and dive into how they cut through the hype and get them to share what's working from their experience.

**Note: We still have one free slot for the panel**. If you are a product manager that has relevant experience on the topic or know someone who would be a good fit, please reach out to us and we'll take it from there.

**Please note:**
The **IN-PERSON** event is RSVP only: to enter, you must RSVP here on Meetup.
**Timings:**
18:30: Arrival
19:00 - 19:10: Hello from ProductTank Düsseldorf

P.T. Düsseldorf #24 - Measuring & Evaluating AI ROI

sipgate GmbH

We're beyond excited to kick off fall with two great speakers with tales from the product frontlines. Join us in October to hear about shaking grounds and what parts of product management remain the same, even when the world around us is changing at rapid speed...

**Eva Gao: Out of the trench - empowering your team when the ground is shaking**
No one in product is leading in stable conditions right now. The ground is moving for everyone. Eva spent years in a deep trench of an unstable market, AI software challengers, and organisational restructuring.
This talk is about what actually got her team executing again. Not a framework from a book, but a repeatable method that works. Told end to end through real stories: from a team in the deep trenches to shipping the first AI feature to the full team AI fluency that followed.
You'll leave knowing how to spot friction that hinders execution before it announces itself, how to build ownership without pressure, and how peer-teaching is what makes empowerment scale.

**About Eva**
[Eva](https://www.linkedin.com/in/evagaode/) is a product leader with ten years' experience building SaaS across three continents. Currently leading an international team spanning Canada and Germany, she puts team development and success in strong focus. With passion and track records to show for it, she proves that building a thriving product organisation and strong product outcomes is not a trade-off.

**Grigory Miroshnikov:** **Building AI Products: What Changes for Product Managers**
Building products with AI or ML does not fundamentally change the product management process: understand the user problem, build a solution, and validate that it creates value. What *does* change is the need to explicitly define and manage the quality of the AI or ML component of the product.
In this talk, Grigory will focus on how PMs can define what “good” means, choose useful offline metrics and evals, and connect model quality to real user and business outcomes. He'll illustrate this with practical examples from ML-powered products he's worked on across different industries, including telecom, consumer video, marketplaces, and logistics.

**About Grigory**
[Grigory](https://www.linkedin.com/in/gvmiroshnikov/) is a product leader with 10+ years of experience building B2C and B2B products. Building AI/ML-powered products is a particular passion of his, with experience applying ML across search, recommendations, marketplaces, and logistics. He is currently a Senior PM at Zalando, where he is building an ML-based product for warehouse steering and logistics optimization. Prior to moving to Germany, he spent five years leading product teams at Yandex, one of Russia’s largest tech companies.

ON-SITE: ProductTank Hamburg - October 2026

1KOMMA5° Showroom Hamburg

Welcome to the Software Renaissance. Everyone is asking how to use AI to do what they already do, faster and cheaper. But when anyone can build anything, the advantage is in knowing exactly *what* to build, and *why*.
On 21st October, as a fringe event on the Wednesday of Birmingham Tech Week, ProductTank is bringing you an unmissable double bill exploring the intersection of high-level AI strategy and ground-level execution at scale.

### **What You’ll Take Away**

* **The New Bottleneck:** Why clarity is now more important than execution.
* **Real AI Scale:** Practical lessons from deploying AI features to millions of active users.
* **Product Craft:** How AI is actively changing the day-to-day work of product teams.
* **Community:** Drinks, networking, and debates with Birmingham’s top product minds.
* **Book Giveaway**: A chance to take home a free copy of Martin's latest book The Decision Stack

**SPEAKER**
Martin Eriksson

**The Talk:** Welcome to the Software Renaissance. Your Strategy Isn't Ready.

**Talk Description:**
When anyone can build anything, the advantage isn't in building. It's in knowing what to build, and why. Everyone's asking how to use AI to do what they already do, faster and cheaper. It's the wrong question and it's quietly shrinking your ambition at the exact moment it should be exploding. Because when the cost of development drops, the bottleneck doesn't disappear. It moves. From execution to clarity. From "can we?" to "should we?” Most teams aren't ready for that shift. This talk is about the bigger question, the one that turns AI from your biggest threat into your biggest opportunity.

**SPEAKER**
Max Borodin

**The Talk:** What AI Innovation Actually Did for a 20M-User Health App

**Talk** **Description:**
Everyone is talking about AI strategy — this is a story about putting one into practice. In this talk, Max will show how innovating with AI helped Simple, a US weight-loss app with over 20 million users (part of Palta, the group behind Flo), grow user engagement by over 50%. He'll cover Coach Avo, an AI health coach used by millions; Blinky, an animated mascot with a personality, built with generative AI; and how AI reshaped not just the product, but the craft of building it and the way teams work day to day.

**SPEAKER BIOS**

**Martin Eriksson**
Martin Eriksson has spent three decades helping organisations figure out why they're stuck and what to do about it.
He's been building digital products since 1994, built SaaS before anyone called it SaaS, and worked his way through companies of every size and stage: The Financial Times, Monster, Huddle, Covestor, Cazoo, and most recently as Product Partner at EQT, one of the world's largest private investors. Along the way he's advised over 150 companies on the thing most of them were missing: not better tools, but the connective tissue between their strategy and the people doing the work.
Today Martin works as a board member, strategic advisor, and leadership coach, helping founders, CEOs, and product leaders build the clarity their organisations need to move at pace. His most recent book, *The Decision Stack: How Strategic Alignment Unlocks Organizational Momentum*, distils everything he's learned about aligning an organisation from vision to execution.
As founder of ProductTank, co-founder of Mind the Product (together the world's largest product community, active in over 200 cities), and co-author of *Product Leadership* (O'Reilly, 2017), he has helped define the product management discipline and shaped the practices of a generation of product leaders

**Max Borodin**
Max Borodin is a product leader passionate about driving innovation with AI. At Simple — an AI-powered weight-loss app used by over 20 million people — he led the teams behind Coach Avo, a two-time award-winning AI health coach, and the gamification system that drove the strongest retention growth in the company's history. He's eager to share the lessons he and his teams learned along the way.
