We're happy to announce the next edition of ProductTank, in which we will talk about branding and how it relates to product development.
A brand extends beyond value propositions and products; it’s based on a complex value exchange with a consumer. It defines the relationship an organisation aspires to have with its customers. Building a brand is a great way to make organizational culture and shared vision explicit and actionable. This is all of course very connected to product development.

Erik Roscam Abbing
In his talk Erik will take us on a little journey to explore the changing meaning of the concept of branding. Through some theory and lots of case examples, he will show us that brands are no longer limited to the domain of marketing communication but have become an essential part of (online) product development and user experience design. For companies operating in multi channel environments, in transparant markets with increasingly demanding customers, brands have become platforms for meaningful, focussed and differentiated innovation.
Erik Roscam Abbing (http://www.zilverinnovation.com/team/) is the founder of Zilver Innovation (http://www.zilverinnovation.com/), a consultancy in customer insight research, brand development, innovation strategy and experience design. Erik is also the author of ‘Brand Driven Innovation’ and part time teacher at the TU Delft. He works for clients like Ebay, Virgin mobile, Rabobank, Ohra, Europcar and Sanoma.
