Sick and tired of the LinkedIn hype machine surrounding the 50th newly released Copilot this week, or that one framework switching names 3 times in a single month? Wondering what exactly is going to change (or already has) for you as a software engineering professional before or after the AI bubble pops?

In this talk, software/cloud architect, engineering nerd and ex-CTO Kevin takes you through a full circle moment, partially revisiting a talk from this very series of Technights 5 years ago before using a number of actual studies and experiences to help you with those exact questions based on (gasp) data and verified results. We'll discuss where we're at as an industry with plenty of jokes/memes along the way, but hopefully also walk away with the knowledge of what skills, methods and ways of working are provably (still?) effective in this new AIge of engineering for you to practice.

Specialist in applying platform engineering to areas like compliance automation (or IT control automation), using event-driven architectures. Similarly experienced in SDLC and collaboration related tooling such as Gitlab, Nexus, Sonarqube and Slack. Experienced in setting up automation, improvement and migration activities related to these types of tools & products. Making use of languages & technologies like Python, AWS, Azure, Ansible and Docker to get things done, and always looking for new things to add to / improve my arsenal. 

Previously led teams in the area of CI/CD enablement and Public Cloud enablement (Azure), and was CTO for a high quality consulting firm. Experience in CI/CD implementation & coaching, as well as frameworks & practices like DevOps, Scrum (certified Scrum Master I & Product Owner II), Lean Six Sigma and Kanban.
