Title: Python for AI Discovery and Development: KISSPlatform’s Story
Short Description: KISSPlatform Europe BV is based in Eindhoven. It recently launched its Innovation Platform: https://www.kissplatform.com/. The Innovation Platform supports innovators everywhere to get access to the resources that they need, including developers, sales help - and of course, patent protection. Getting to launch was a long journey that involved a lot of Python programming - first in Jupiter Notebooks, then in the cloud. The initial exploratory work was done entirely with Python, using BeautifulSoup to grab the data - while discovering that trademark data from the US has such poorly formed XML that even BeautifulSoup gave up. Then we shifted to Python frameworks and libraries, including Pandas, Word2Vec and others, to discover the language used by startups to describe their ideas. Finally we narrowed down our initial exploration to a particular set of NLP frameworks, which we used for launch. Examples of code will be shown and discussed.
Presenter: Dr. D'vorah Graeser | Founder & CEO of KISSPatent www.kisspatent.com.

Title: Modelling for coronavirus in refugee camp settings
Short Description: Refugee camps are known for high population density and bad hygienic conditions how can epidemiology modelling approaches help NGOs to better prepare for the potential coronavirus outbreak in camps. At AIforGood simulator (aiforgoodsimulator.com) we aim to build models that can be used by NGOs to empower their decisions to save lives in the camps
Tech: compartment model in Python Agent based model in NetLogo and Mason Network model in R
