Hi everyone,

We hope you are well during this time! While we as R-Ladies Amsterdam typically focus on developing hands- on skills- it's also important to learn how to vocalise your developed skills and achievements! As such, we are excited to invite you to attend the #IamRemarkable workshop as part of the #IamRemarkable Week running from 12-19 November. Join us to celebrate the power of diversity and allyship- and get inspired by remarkable stories and improve your confidence and self-promotion skills.

#IamRemarkable is a Google initiative empowering women and
underrepresented groups to speak openly about their
accomplishments in the workplace and beyond, thereby
breaking modesty norms and glass ceilings. Learn more at
g.co/IamRemarkable

In this interactive session, you will participate in group
discussions and exercises to develop the confidence and skills to
promote yourself effectively.

During the 90 min #IamRemarkable workshop we will:

  • Share data and research regarding self promotion and
    unconscious bias
  • Go through the main exercise to help you articulate your
    achievements and practice self promotion
  • Have a discussion and share take home exercises
Feel free to sign up to discuss one of the chapters there!

ABOUT Janine

Janine is a data scientist and one of the R-Ladies Amsterdam co-founders. Within the data science world she loves the intricacies that come with data science in the medical world, involving messy data (generation) and medical decision making that go beyond the technical nitty gritty. With her background in psychology she is well equipped to thoroughly understand the the requirements that go into a well designed data science project. She entered the world of data science through R- where her love for the language and the community developed. Now she is busy bringing the community in Amsterdam together supporting others in achieving their full programming potential through R.
