Putten to Ermelo (17.5km)

Putten to Ermelo hike 04-05-2025

Gathering point is Putten train station. We will leave at 10:00. This is not a round trip so we will end at a different point (Ermelo town centre). For those who are interested, we will go end at a local bar for a post-hike drink. For those who wish to head straight home the station is another 1km walk from the end point.
Admission fee: 1,- Euro cash on the day of the walk or via Tikkie. Pints are also considered legal tender in this group.

On this walk we will see the following things:

• Solsche Gat forest
• Ermelosche Heide heath
• Stone Age burial mounds
• Remains of a Roman Castrum

This walk is about 17.5 km with some paved road mixed with dirt tracks and sand. There will be an option to stop for a coffee and some lunch about half-way.

In case of extreme bad weather, no interest or any other reason the walk can be cancelled.
Who should sign up:

• Anyone who is reasonably fit and can hike at a pace of 5-6 km an hour.

What to bring:

• Decent shoes: with good gripping/traction soles
• Plenty of water is essential
• Some snacks
• Hat - for sunny weather
• Raincoat

If you feel like you will be late then please inform in advance. We will not wait for latecomers who have not given prior notice and only when reasonable.
