# COMMON HUMANITY (in English)
## Interactive workshop about authentic connection, compassion and empathy
We live in a time of constant digital contact, yet many of us feel more isolated than ever.
What do we really mean by human connection and common humanity?
Why are they so essential to both our mental and physical wellbeing?
And what might it look like, in practice, to strengthen the ties we have with ourselves and with others?
Deep down, we all know that perfection is an illusion. Still, when life doesn’t unfold as we hoped, it can feel like a personal failure. At such moments, the voice of our inner critic grows louder, eclipsing the many things we might otherwise feel grateful for. No matter how much is going well, the critic insists on highlighting what is missing, what is too slow, or not enough.
### Going to the core
Our need for connection is ancient, biological, and deeply woven into us. And yet, we are finding it harder and harder to truly meet one another. We get used to surfaces: to speed, distance, and digital filters. All of which make it harder to share what really matters and leave us feeling less seen, less connected.
In this workshop, we will explore what it means to go beneath the surface. We will look at the strength that lies in vulnerability, and why it asks for courage. We will also learn to notice the voice of the inner critic, a voice that exists in all of us, no matter how confident we may appear.
### Authentic Connection, Compassion & Empathy
Over the course of the afternoon, we’ll reflect on why connection, compassion, and empathy are essential to a fulfilled and meaningful life. At the same time, you will practise skills that deepen your capacity to connect and to empathise.
### An experiential afternoon
This will not be a purely theoretical event. We will touch briefly on the latest findings in neuroscience and positive psychology, but our focus will be on translating those ideas into lived experience.
Through simple but powerful exercises, you will explore the difference between cognitive empathy and emotional empathy, and discover the felt power of connection.
### What We’ll Explore Together
- What authentic human connection really means
- The difference between empathy and sympathy
- How to relate to your inner critic without being dominated by it
- Why compassion — including self-compassion — can deepen our relationships
- How vulnerability, far from being a weakness, can become one of our greatest strengths
### This workshop is based on:
- Neuroscience
- Positive psychology
### Who is it for?
This workshop is open to anyone with an interest in personal growth and a curiosity to explore new perspectives. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
