Pitch and Planning Session # 57
The next Pitch and Planning Session will be on: **Tue. Apr. 21th at 19:00**
**House of Music**
**RAW Gelande**
**Revalerstr 99,**
**10245 Berlin**
The event is on the ground floor, by the bar. This is a very large and amazing space that we are now calling home.
We are super looking forward to hearing your pitches and watching you meet people ready to help you make your films a reality in the really real world!
Please note that this is a free event. In order to support the work we do, our community, and the lovely space that is gracious enough to let us hold events there, all we ask is that that you have 2 drinks of some kind or at least some snacks. That would help us out a lot!
For those who are new, our Pitch and Planning Session is a monthly English language event held here in Berlin for people who have an idea for a film and would like to pitch it, as well as those people who are eager to work on films. It's all about getting films made.
If you have a film idea that is burning a hole in your brain, tell the people in the audience your story idea and hopefully you will meet people who can help you make your idea into a reality!
This event is also for people who want to help out in all aspects of filmmaking to help make these pitches happen. So if your passion is camera, sound, hair and makeup, writing, lighting, fighting, or anything that could help, you are always welcome. Whether you're new to filmmaking or experienced and want to work on something cool and creative, no matter what your area of expertise/interest is, this is for you!
Be sure to show up to either pitch your idea or be ready to listen to some interesting pitches from excited people and potentially help someone make their film. Let's make some cool shit!
If you still want more information you can head on over to our website:
[https://berlinfilmcommunity.com/pitch_and_planning/](https://berlinfilmcommunity.com/pitch_and_planning/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAYnJpZBExS253Rk1hTzRST21nNms2d3NydGMGYXBwX2lkEDIyMjAzOTE3ODgyMDA4OTIAAR78aez-ccVasUCGpbvr5bZH6QOjgYIGgVBqwhpnHgimf4f7csTrjMQ1RbslLA_aem_3RG_oFQJj_ELRB-L0VCp5g)
I have been a part of making some of these pitched projects into real world movies and I have always had a blast.

âWickedly funny AND educational! This isnât Anna writing some stuff that she thinks youâre going to find funny â this is real life and hilarious.â â Adrian Bowen
âThis was such a fun show and I genuinely couldnât stop laughing! It was so dark, a little twisted, and so wrong in all the right places! Viciously relatable and finally saying all the 18+ thoughts out loud that youâre ashamed of finding funny! 10/10, no notes, go watch!â â Sarah

âBRILLIANT! 10/10. Educational, hilarious, witty. Excellent comedic timing. Annaâs show is by far the funniest I have seen at Fringe. When she does crowd work itâs awesome, would love to see more of that in her show! Inspired me to pursue comedy myself.ď¸ď¸ď¸ď¸ď¸â â Oli May

Option 1 (and the one I'll be seeing) is the top-reviewed comedy-drama, THE CHRISTOPHERS! The film is set in the art world and follows the estranged children of a former artist who hire a forger. It is directed by Steven Soderberg, stars Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel and has been earning rave reviews on the indie circuit. Option 2 is the latest action-thriller starring Bob Odenkirk, NORMAL! BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film is earning an excellent 97% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes where critics call it a âdynamic, emotional and surprising journeyâ and a âcompelling chamber piece that works like intellectual comfort food.â Others call the film, an âincredibly funny, comedy drama with plot reversals that make it feel like itâs on the verge of a thriller!â TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H79-EqzmdwY&t=20s
NORMAL: This action-crime-thriller follows a man who comes to the sleepy town of Normal, Minnesota to serve as the temporary sheriff. City Lights (1931)
"The SOB is a ballet dancer. Heâs the best ballet dancer that ever lived, and if I get a good chance Iâll kill him with my bare hands." - W.C. Fields
In *City Lights*, Chaplin's Little Tramp meets a blind girl selling flowers who mistakes him for a wealthy man. When he learns that an operation may restore her sight, he sets off to earn the money she needs to have the surgery. He also befriends an alcoholic millionaire who only recognizes him when he is drunk. When the blind girl and her grandmother fall behind in the rent and face eviction, he tries working and even enters a boxing competition to raise the money they need.
Regarded as Chaplin's masterpiece, *City Lights* has been ranked on more than seventeen "100 greatest movies of all time" lists. Orson Welles cited it as his favorite picture.
*City Lights* is available for streaming on Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBOMax, Tubi and PlutoTV. The Columbus Library lists three copies on blu-ray and eight copies on DVD. Watch the movie on your own, then join us upstairs at East Market to discuss the film.
If you want more, *Unknown Chaplin* is a three-episode lost-footage documentary available on Youtube. It covers his time on *City Lights* beginning at the twenty-six minute mark of episode two: https://youtu.be/f8960Uc15hI?t=1558
