It's the end of the year! Help us celebrate with a get together to ring out 2025, and hope for a good 2026! We will be getting together in the evening, starting at 6pm, and going through the night, celebrating the turn of the year, and then gaming until people are ready to go home. There will be snacks, and bringing snacks is encouraged, but we hope that you will have already had dinner before you arrive. Here's hoping you'll join us! Normal details follow: Vaccine verification will be made via either presentation of your Vaccine card at the door, or a photo of the updated card posted to the vaccine channel of the group Discord. Masks are now optional. Our setup, as it's currently configured, should allow for even better social distancing than we had before, with the secondary gaming area in a completely different room. We've got a decently sized collection of systems ranging from the old 8-16 bit days, on through to all the current systems, including the PS5, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Ouya, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, PC, Nvidia Shield TV, Evercade VS, and even an Amiga 1200, as well as a decent number of controllers. Please bring any Wii U pro, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or PS4 controllers you have though, as we could use those, and any games that people might bring would also be welcome. We have a second and third screen with classic consoles and a spare PS4, and have some streaming from our PC, thanks to our Steam Link. We also have an arcade cab, filled to the brim with games! It's also got HDMI inputs. If you have a system you would like to bring along, please do so! Here's hoping to see you all here!!!

For January's game of the month we are playing the platformer "Return of the Obra Dinn." From the devs: *In 1802, the merchant ship Obra Dinn set out from London for the Orient with over 200 tons of trade goods. Six months later it hadn't met its rendezvous point at the Cape of Good Hope and was declared lost at sea.* *Early this morning of October 14th, 1807, the Obra Dinn drifted into port at Falmouth with damaged sails and no visible crew. As insurance investigator for the East India Company's London Office, dispatch immediately to Falmouth, find means to board the ship, and prepare an assessment of damages.* It is available for PC, Mac, Switch, PS4, and Xbox. Play through it and we will discuss it on the 3rd! You do not need to play all or even any of the game to attend but please be prepared to be spoiled at the meeting :-) p.s. **A drop-in game every Sunday afternoon at the Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum.** The museum is located one block from the Judiciary Square Metro station (Red line). Street parking is available, and a paid garage is located at 3rd and G Streets. You do not need to be a member of the museum to participate. On entry to the building, inform the front desk staff that you are there to play mahj, and you will be directed to the Nosh Pit, where you can also enjoy a snack and coffee. **All skill levels are encouraged to participate.** **Lessons for new and returning players are available at 1:00 (please be on time).** Games begin at 1:00. Join us at Easton Town Center for a casual evening of board gaming. Play from our library or bring one of your favorites to share. We usually bring along Catan, Ticket to Ride, Cascadia, etc... We'll be set up at the Donatos Pizza Party Room. It was free for us to reserve, but you may want to buy a drink or go in on a pizza. Why Easton? Although there aren't any board game stores / cafes here, it's a nice area. More importantly, this event coincides with LifeTime Fitness Parent's Night Out, so our kid will get babysat. If you happen to be a member of Lifetime you too can get free babysitting and play some games.
