IN-PERSON Book Club Meeting - KAFKA ON THE SHORE by Haruki Murakami
IN-PERSON Book Club Meeting - KAFKA ON THE SHORE by Haruki Murakami
'KAFKA ON THE SHORE' by Haruki Murakami 'The aging Nakata, tracker of lost cats, who never recovered from a bizarre childhood affliction, finds his pleasantly simplified life suddenly turned upside down. There is a savage killing, but the identity of both victim and killer is a riddle. Kafka on the Shore follows the fortunes of two remarkable characters. Kafka Tamura runs away from home at fifteen, under the shadow of his father's dark prophesy. The aging Nakata, tracker of lost cats, who never recovered from a bizarre childhood affliction, finds his pleasantly simplified life suddenly turned upside down. Their parallel odysseys are enriched throughout by vivid accomplices and mesmerising dramas. Cats converse with people; fish tumble from the sky; a ghostlike pimp deploys a Hegel-spouting girl of the night; a forest harbours soldiers apparently un-aged since WWII. There is a savage killing, but the identity of both victim and killer is a riddle. Murakami's new novel is at once a classic tale of quest, but it is also a bold exploration of mythic and contemporary taboos, of patricide, of mother-love, of sister-love. Above all it is an entertainment of a very high order.' ***Please read the book and join us for a lively discussion (in English) about the contents during our afternoon book club meeting.*** \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **PLEASE NOTE:** This is an IN-PERSON event in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. Sketch and walk from Hilversum to Groeneveld castle (Baarn) ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒฟ
๐Ÿ“ Hilversum Station, 10:30 โ†’ finish at Baarn railway station (~17:30) We meet inside the station near piano. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ ~10 km total | ~6โ€“7 hours | relaxed pace with sketching stops ๐ŸŽฏ Main destination: Kasteel Groeneveld Weโ€™ll walk together through nature from Hilversum to the castle (~7 km), making several short sketching stops (15โ€“30 min), with a longer session near the castle. After that, we continue ~3 km to Baarn station. Thereโ€™s a cafรฉ at the castle (coffee, sweets, late lunch), but weโ€™ll arrive later โ€” bring your own food/snacks so you donโ€™t get hungry. Bring along: * Sketching materials * Water * Foldable chair or blanket (there is no guaranteed seating in forest) * Comfortable walking clothes * Extra layer (it gets cold when sitting still) * Sandwich or snacks to keep energy going No pressure on skill level โ€” all styles welcome. Come for the walk, the nature, and the sketches ๐ŸŒฟโœ๏ธ
Slow dating - Connection Games [Affinitee Utrecht, April Edition]
Slow dating - Connection Games [Affinitee Utrecht, April Edition]
## Love is in the airโ€ฆ! After the crazy success of our first event, we're back with more connection games! This time, the games will be much shorter (15-20 mins each) to allow for easier rotation. For those who're new here, Affinitee hosts slow dating events focused on discovering relationships built on compatibility over superficiality! **No more swiping, skip the bad dates!** ### *This is how it works:* 1\. Before you arrive at the meetup\, you fill in a fun 5\-10 minute questionnaire before registration below \(if you haven't already\)\. We explore different aspects of relationship compatibility using this questionnaire\. To make use of the pre-matching facility, we recommend registering on the website as well. You may sign up here [https://affinitee.eu/au-event-3](https://affinitee.eu/au-event-3) 2\. A match will be automatically assigned \(if available\)\, based on your given criteria \(age range\, children\, location etc\.\) as well as the overall compatibility score based on your questionnaire answers\. 3\. At the event\, you will be able to try out a multitude of board/card games that are specifically chosen to explore various aspects of relationship compatibility \(moral values\, decision making etc\.\)\. 4\. After each game\, you can choose to switch partners\, or continue with the same person\, based on input from either parties\. 5\. At the end of the event\, IF you did indeed feel a spark with someone at the event \(and it is reciprocated\)\, we help you arrange a date with them\. You do not even have to exchange contacts\! **[!!IMPORTANT!!]** We recommend signing up through our website to guarantee a match as early as possible. But of course, even if no match isassigned to you due to late registration or gender imbalance, a majority of the games are still played as groups! *So nobody gets left out and everyone has a chance to meet and match with other singles.* We believe in conscious, compatibility based matchmaking. Don't waste your time dating the wrong people!

Womenโ€™s Spring Picnic in Mรกxima Park (Utrecht) โ€” Connect & Meet
### Let's Feast on Joy and Connection Under the Trees! ๐ŸŒฟ Dear sisters, are you craving connection that goes beyond the superficial? Do you long for a space where you can truly soften, open, and awaken your authentic self? Our beloved SOMA monthly circle is moving outdoors for a special gathering, and we are calling all women ready to nourish their souls as much as their bodies! In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to feel isolated, even amidst crowds. The SOMA community was born from a deep understanding that we thrive when we are seen, witnessed, and held in a supportive circle. This picnic is an invitation to step into that sacred space, where judgment dissolves, and genuine connection flourishes. ### What to Expect: This isn't just a picnic; it's an opportunity to experience the ancient feminine wisdom of gathering in circle, a practice that helps us maintain continuity and a sense of belonging without the pressure to perform. Here, your emotions are your anchor, and your presence is your power. We will engage in: โ€ขGrounding Rituals: Simple practices to bring us fully into our bodies and the present moment. โ€ขMeaningful Conversation: Heart-led sharing where every voice is valued, and every story is witnessed. โ€ขThe Medicine of Nature: Allowing the serene embrace of Maxima Park to soothe our spirits and deepen our connection to ourselves and each other. Come for the sisterhood, stay for the laughter, and leave feeling regulated, radiant, and deeply held. It's a space where we collectively create a coherent field, stepping into something truly transformative through body-led healing and authentic presence. ### Practical Details: โ€ขBring: Your favorite snack to share with the circle, a blanket or cushion for comfort, and most importantly, an open heart. โ€ขLocation: Maxima Park, Utrecht (Specific meeting point details will be shared with RSVPs). โ€ขDate: Sunday, 12th April 2026 โ€ขTime: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM ### Join Our Sisterhood: Ready to deepen your connection and be a part of our growing SOMA community? DM me 'SISTER' to join our WhatsApp group and stay updated on all our gatherings and workshops. We can't wait to welcome you!

What If Your AI Could Be a Team? - Chad Green
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge. **Abstract** GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise. We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration. Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team. **YouTube Link** TBD
