Introduction
Spring is finally here — and what better way to welcome it than with a breath of fresh air and a walk through nature coming back to life! The trails are waking up, the days are growing longer, and the Hoge Kempen is at its most quietly beautiful in these first weeks of the season. Come shake off the winter and celebrate the change with a scenic hike through one of Belgium's finest natural landscapes.
Whether you're an introvert who likes to disappear into a good playlist, or an extrovert who loves chatting about everything from daily life to the secrets of the universe — you're warmly welcome here!

We gather on Sunday, March 22th at 10:45 AM near Maasmechelen Village bus stop.
We'll wait 15 minutes and set off at 11:00 AM sharp. Once we start, we'll share our live location in the WhatsApp group of this hike so anyone running late can catch up.
Parking space is available at Parking National Park Visitor Center/Visit MaasMechelen.

🗺️ The Hiking Path
We will start and end our hike from the Maasmechelen Village bus stop.
You can preview the full route on Komoot, and find more information about the area on the Hoge Kempen national park website.

🎒 What to Bring
• Hiking shoes 🥾 with good grip — early spring trails can be muddy and wet, and light sneakers won't hold up.
• Depending on the temperature warm layers and Waterproof Poncho, in case of rain, an umbrella will not work well!
If you carry a backpack you might need a rain cover for it too.
• Water and lunch or snacks to keep your energy up on the trail.

👉 Important
• The hike will go ahead rain or shine — a little drizzle is part of the adventure!
• In case of a code orange or red weather warning the hike will be canceled even with short notice.
• In case of low interest the hike may be canceled.
