Two superpowers: developer docs and digital sovereignty

Join us to learn how to hone your documentarian skills and turn them into superpowers:

  • It’s time for you to step up your game & unleash your secret weapon: a high quality technical documentation that will bring value to your users by really educating them. Learn how with @fharper!
  • With great docs comes great responsibility. Where do you store them? Where do you deploy them? Who owns them? And what about the infrastructure they rely on?

What we'll explore

Developers Documentation: your hidden strength
Speaker: Frédéric Harper

You can have the best product out there, but if your documentation isn’t on par with the experience you want to offer, success is not guaranteed. So use the documentation as your secret weapon for greater adoption, and growth that you may have not known you could achieve.

It’s time for you to step up your game! Learn about the benefits of high quality and educational documentation and the true role it plays in the developer community. You’ll also learn the principles of a solid foundation, and tips on how to use one of the most powerful developer relations’ tools.

Digital sovereignty for writers: your data, your decisions
Speaker: Olufunke Moronfolu

As technical writers, we often optimize for reach, following algorithms and publishing where the audience is, on platforms we don't control, and under rules we didn't set.

This talk explores digital sovereignty for writers. Together, we'll look at the risks of platform-first publishing, why visibility often comes at the cost of control, and how ideas from the independent web like POSSE can help you retain your content rights.

About the speakers

Frédéric Harper

Frédéric Harper is a seasoned Developer Advocate with over 20 years in tech, currently Senior Developer Relations Manager at TinyMCE.

Fred has held developer advocacy roles at industry giants such as Microsoft, Mozilla, Fitbit, and npm.
He's spoken at hundreds of events globally and authored "Success in Programming — How to Gain Recognition, Power, and Influence Through Personal Branding" (Apress).

Outside of tech, he is a cat lover, and teaches meditation and Buddhist philosophy.

Olufunke Moronfolu

Olu's drive to understand the "how" behind the "what" pulled her into the world of software engineering. She later moved into technical writing: while she loved building software, she was equally passionate about explaining it—viewing documentation as a vital and often undervalued stage of the software development lifecycle.

Today, she operates at the intersection of tech and education, acting as an advocate for both users and developers.
