"The mind is a story processor, not a logic processor." Have you ever wondered why politics and religion are so incredibly divisive? Or why good, intelligent people can look at the exact same set of facts and come away with completely opposite held beliefs?

Join us for a deep dive into the landmark book on moral psychology by Jonathan Haidt, The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion.

In this session, we will explore the metaphor of the Elephant and the Rider, dive into the six moral foundations that govern our choices, and discuss how our evolutionary history shaped our righteous minds. To get the most out of this meetup, I strongly recommend reading the text (or at least your favorite chapters).

Our goal is to discuss our impressions about the book in broader context, sharing highlights, the most important points, and parts we found controversial or interesting. The plan is to have only a single discussion session.
