We are the official ISSA Meetup group for computer security professionals in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Our members are from both sides of the James River who are interested in securing their digital information against the growing threats of hackers, malware, and insider threats. ISSA is the premiere community for cybersecurity professionals dedicated to advancing individual growth, managing technology risk, and protecting critical information and infrastructure.

Currently, Sean leads the Engineering and IT efforts for Swish which is a 20-year-old Federal Technology Solutions provider with deep technical experience in DoD and Civilian agencies. More recently, Sean has closely collaborated with clients and Swish Engineers to evaluate, implement, and optimize AI security capabilities to address rapidly changing market needs. Sean actively participates in GBEF, ATARC, ACT-IAC and AFCEA community working groups, which recently includes significant discussions on AI and AI security.
Talk Description
AI has rapidly evolved from standalone tools into core, agent-driven business workflows, while security has often struggled to keep pace. This talk explores how to identify and manage AI-specific risks and outlines practical guardrails that enable organizations to securely adopt AI systems without compromising data, compliance, or mission objectives.
