8km hike in Houten with scenic Rietplas houses on the way

At 10.30AM on Saturday 4th of April we'll start at our meeting point Houten Castellum train station, where we'll be waiting you in the tunnel under the train station. On our way we'll pass several sights, including the colorful houses at the Rietplas (yes, there will be time to make some photos there), the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal and Kasteel Schonauwen.

Do you think about joining, but you're not sure what this is about? Well, Utrecht Hiking Community aims to organise one hike per month. If you're in for a hike with a bunch of friendly other people, you are very welcome to join, no matter whether you are an expat, professional, nomad, local or a student. The hikes are a way to meet people while being active and exploring a place you might not be going to otherwise. If your aim is to hike fast, we might not be the right hiking group for you though. For us it's more about having a fun walk, seeing nice places and socialising.

Don't forget to put it into your agenda: Saturday 4th of April, 10.30AM - hiking time! 😀 Bring good walking shoes, your phone/photo camera, something to eat/drink for on the way and a good mood!

There are no public toilets at Houten Castellum train station or on the way. Therefore please visit a restroom before arriving. Dogs are allowed on this route.

After the hike there is an option to go for lunch/drinks in the Castellum shopping center.
