Abstract: In this presentation, we will be touching upon security and privacy engineering in V2X systems from a technical standpoint. The life-cycle of system design, such as system architecture, threats consideration, and solution design using primitives of cryptography.

About the speaker: Iraklis Symeonidis is a post-doctoral researcher at NSS of KTH, led by Prof. Papadimitratos. He received his Ph.D. degree at COSIC of KU Leuven, supervised by Prof. Bart Preneel, in 2018. Furthermore, he was post-doctoral research at COSIC of KU Leuven and APSIA of the University of Luxembourg. His research is focused on the intersection between cyber-secure and privacy-preserving systems with a specific direction on application layer protocols. He has been working on various scientific and industrial projects, including but not limited to Intelligent Transport Systems, end-to-end encryption on secure messaging, and the privacy infringes of Online Social Networks. His research on the Facebook third-party applications received media coverage (the Cambridge Analytica Scandal).
