Walking meditations on Tao Te Ching
Details
Dear friends
During this event we will concentrate on verses from chapter 49 of Tao Te Ching. We will reflect together this chapter and then will go for a 20 minute walking meditation in the park!!
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu is a chinese classical text with 81 verses of wisdom. Though Tao Te Ching has been interpreted subjectively according to who is reading it, for a seeker on the path of wisdom it is a wonderful and precise guide to the process of becoming an enlightened being, to accomplish, within oneself, a high level of spiritual cultivation.
Verse 49 of Tao Te Ching
"The sage does not follow
her own heart-mind
but follows the heart-mind
of the people as her own.
To the good people
she is good.
To the not-good people
she is also good.
To the trusting ones
she extends trust (xin).
As for the untrusting
she also extends trust.
To be virtuous is to trust.
The sage in the world
unites herself with the heart-mind of everyone.
The people lift their eyes and ears to her
and she brings them back
to their childlike hearts."
Welcome to a beautiful reflection and walking meditation experience!
