Wat we doen
Taalhuis Amsterdam is a house for languages, located in the heart of Amsterdam, where you can learn and improve your Dutch and Mediterranean languages. Because we believe that language and culture go hand-in-hand, we organize events outside the classroom, like language exchanges, movie nights and conversation walks.
Our events are open to everyone interested in learning a new language or refining their language skills.

The verb is the boss in a sentence and tells us who is doing something, at what time and sometimes even in which ‘mood’ someone is doing something! And in Greek the verb can also express the ‘aspect’, often described as ‘the way of action’. Is the action still in progress or are we talking about a single, finished event?

This grammar workshop is dedicated to the Greek aspect (όψη). When do we use αόριστος and when παρατατικός? When do we use απλός μέλλοντας and when συνεχής μέλλοντας.
In this 2 hour session we will give you guidelines, many examples and plenty of exercises to put your grammar skills into practice.

Many students struggle with the word order in Dutch sentences: what is a hoofdzin, what is a bijzin, where is the verb, when do we use inversie, and where do all these small words like niet, er, and mee go?
In this workshop, you’ll try to make sen(ten)se of it all. You’ll go over the most important rules of sentence structure and of course, practise a lot. The duration of the workshop is 3 hours, including a short break.

Additional homework exercises and a written assignment will be given and corrected by the teacher within two weeks after the workshop.

Join us on Friday morning for a casual gathering where we can chat in Italian, and enjoy a nice espresso to start the ‘fine settimana’ in the best possible way.
This event welcomes students with varying levels from A2 to B2. Please register in advance and let us know your level in the comments so that we can plan the conversation activities.
