Don’t Be Evil: Building Trustable and Responsible Technology Business
As the term “Surveillance Capitalism” established itself in 2019, we ask ourselves what will it take for 2020 to turn into the pivotal year that will turn the tide of an impending and some say inevitable ‘Privacy Crisis’?
On 27th August, ThingsCon and EHVIOTmeetup joined forces to kick-off a series of industry-focused workshops and discussions aimed at proactively calling a halt to the insidious activities threatening to erode trust in the technology industry. This workshop is a follow-up and the last of a series of deep dives into the topics under discussion:
TRUST TOOLKIT Throughout the Product lifecycle
We close the workshop by using the previous workshop discussions as a blueprint to consider the requirements and technical tooling that might support the validation and application of good practices both in an early stage of design and development as well as auditing throughout the product lifecycle. Which aspects, if any, might be automated, such as testing for developers, auditing for business owners, or providing better transparency or protection for end-users? We will also look ahead to ‘responsible’ technology that will cater to privacy and trust in the future generation of connected devices and solutions.
This workshop series is aimed at a broad audience of professionals with backgrounds in technology, ethics, regulation, (service) design, business, and finance on the requirements and possibilities for a European Code of Trust.
