The Smashing Expats training & games

Hi everyone 🏐
We are happy to invite you to another Smashing Expats training session. This session focuses on a specific first-contact skill, combined with clear team communication and coordination.
The technical emphasis will be on serve-receive platform control and angle management, with particular attention to seam responsibility and calling the ball.
We will work on how to:

• create a stable passing platform under pressure,
• adjust platform angles to direct the ball to the setter zone, and
• communicate clearly in serve-receive to avoid hesitation and overlaps.

This session is about building trust in first contact and creating a calm, organized start to each rally.

Time: Gym opens 19:50 | Warm-up starts 20:00 | Training (1h15) | Games until 21:55
Location: Putseplein 20, Rotterdam (5-minute walk from metro station Maashaven)
Maximum players: 26 participants

Arrive, change, and help set up the court
20-minute warm-up
45 minutes of focused training on:
• Serve-receive platform control and angle management
• Communication and seam responsibility in first contact
Games until 21:55
Stretching, cool-down, and tidy up together
💡 Practical Info
Please sign up via this Meetup event or let Eleonora (XR2), Hazem (XR3), or Katarzyna (non-NeVoBo members) know directly if you are joining.
A €6 contribution applies for non-NeVoBo members.
Payment must be completed at least 2 days before the event (deadline: Sunday, 19 April 2025).

Only clean indoor shoes are allowed.
After training, everyone is welcome to join for a non-alcoholic drink or a small snack at a place close to the gym, next to metro station Maashaven. A relaxed moment to cool down, chat, and connect off the court.
