Anthony's Nose to Castle Rock Free hike

PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION!

Only heavy rain can stop us!
It's time for a new hike verticals! This time we do Anthony's Nose and Castle Rock trails.
We will pass through lakes, rivers, creeks and old castle. We will have a lunch by the South mountain pass and come back to NY from Garrison.
If we have enough time we will visit an entrance of an old mine.
This is not a loop walk!

When?
June 14
7:30 AM (Sunday)

Where?
1st meeting point 07:30am at a center of Grand Central Terminal (look for a round information kiosk).

Detailed plan:
7:30 AM - Meeting at center of Grand Central Terminal (look for a round information kiosk)
7:57 AM - Departure from Grand Central to Manitou train station
9:07 AM - Arriving at Manitou
10:00 AM - Meeting rest of the group at the entrance to Appalachian National Scenic Trail

10:15 AM - Start hiking
11:15 AM - Arriving to Anthony's Nose Trailhead
12:00 PM - Lunch at South mountain pass
1:50 PM - Arriving to Castle Rock Unique Area
2:40 PM - Visiting the castle and surroundings
5:00 PM - Reaching Garrison station
5:23 PM - Taking train to Grand Central station
6:50 PM - Arriving to Grand Central station

**** HOW TO GET THERE and BACK ***
Metro-North train:
Way to: Grand Central to Manitou train station (look for a 7:57 AM train).
Way back: Garrison train station to Grand Central (look for 5:23 PM train).

By car: ask a group if someone is driving and can give you a ride.

*** USEFUL INFO ***
About 15 miles hike (expect for full day)
Total elevation: 1800ft
Please don't come late as the train will NOT wait for you.
Please keep the above into consideration as this event is not for rookies.
Walkie-talkie: our frequency: 462.6125 or 462.6375 (Channel 3 and 4)
Please bring enough water and food for 6 hours.
We do not recommend you to swim at lakes and rivers.
We suggest getting train tickets in advance at Grand Central station or through the MTA app.
