Re: [newtech-1] See you at the NYTM tomorrow?

MIT Enterprise Forum charges $50 per event.? Events are free if you pay a $100 annual membership fee.? These figures are a little rich for NYTM (perhaps), but a similar model might work nicely -- I'd happily pay $100/yr to guarantee access and have the option to opt-out of an event -- or lose my guaranteed ticket if I fail to RSVP within a given time block and thus relinquish my ticket to a first-come-first-served pool.

Agreed. Given its also once a month, I'd easily pay $20

I bet they could raise the prices by 50% (that would be $15 instead of $10) and still have the demand problems. ?Personal guess: the most they could sell is for 25. ?If they can find a cost below that in order to cover the cost of a larger space, they probably should start thinking about it.

Mike,

The problem is that there is more demand that there are seats, even
with ~800 capacity. And getting larger and larger venues becomes more
expensive meaning the ticket price would likely go up, which might
reduce the demand. Better to be sold out and fiscally sound then make
everyone who wants to get in happy and risk losing money.
