It is a great cultural phenom, like many before it in America
the new thought movement is deeper, much deeper
and if we have to be in a Darfur, we can suffer less by how we choose to use our minds through it all or until the bitter end
which is basic buddhist practice
seeing possibilities can sometimes help us get out of binds instead of succumbing to negativity and failure which is easier in bad times
that is the true notion of this movement
there are plenty of accounts by concentration camp and other kinds of horror survivors that attest to this principle
although the secret is far too crass and simplistic to touch that. Most of the satirists would never get their either.
