https://www.hailocab.com Seems to be on the right track for capturing the yellow cabs.  Uber is car service.  Hailo is already up to 9 cities, one being NY.  They said NY is by far the most challenging, however they seem extremely confident that they will solve the issues.  They are setting up shop in NYC and hiring a ton, including a recruiting manager which signals a pretty high level commitment and confidence.
