I have been using a spacemacs with the React, Javascript, OSX, GIT and 
HTML layers (https://github.com...­) as a nice set of 
packages bundled together on top of emacs. You can run locally and open 
remote files using tramp mode, but since this is emacs, I have it 
installed on the remote machine and use it via terminal with almost all 
the same functionality.
