@Pavan It's about to scale what you would expect to pay for an internal employee with the same skills; but you don't have to deal with payroll, insurance, etc, so it can actually be cheaper tbh.

I should also mention: The turnaround time is insane. From my first contact with Toptal to the time one of their devs started working on our app was about 4 days. It's a great service for quickly ramping talent.

Since people seem interested, here's the link again: http://www.toptal.com/#trust-only-awesome-computer-engineers

How much do you generally pay topal devs?

Toptal is pretty awesome. I've worked with 3 developers (2 Ruby + 1 JS) and they've all been fantastic. I've also specifically asked them about working as a Toptal dev, and one of them said something like "It's changed my life. It used to be so hard to find good projects to work on. Now I don't have to worry about finding work and getting paid, I can just do what I love."

So it sounds great!

I just remembered I have a referral link with them which I haven't used yet. If you're going to sign up anyway you should totally use it (:

Alex, feel free to reach out to me directly about remote front-end work. I am developer myself but run a startup in NYC called FlexHire that places senior engineers with primarily venture backed tech companies, digital agencies and some enterprise. We have a technical screening process but pending that I have some companies in mind that we can introduce you too if you also have the right skillset (angular / ember / react, etc.).

The other suggestions people gave are also excellent, so consider us another good option.

Full disclosure: I am the cofounder of FlexHire.

Best,

Rami

I am currently working with 4 Toptal developers I've hired and have had a very good experience with them. If you can qualify, you should apply.

I can't personally vouch for them, but http://www.toptal.com/ seems to be worth looking into

Heard of www.trygigster.com recently (YC company), but I haven't tried it. I have a friend who's using them (as a client) for a node.js project right now and says they're pretty good.

Hey NYC rb,

I just moved to Australia and will be traveling the world for the foreseeable future. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to look for remote front end work.

Thanks,
Alex
