What we're about

Free office hours for programming help - any programming language, all skill levels. The format is super simple: you come with your laptop, sit and hang out and code, and flag down one of the organizers if you have a question. That's it! If we can't answer your question, we'll find you someone who can, or at least point you in the right direction.

Note that this is a meetup for people learning to code. Experienced developers are more than welcome, though - we appreciate the help! For those hiring or simply interested in supporting free learning in NYC, we are open to sponsorships, so just reach out (http://nyc.hackerhours.org/suggestion/)! No recruiting without permission from the organizer(s). Feel free to use the mailing list: hackerhours-list@meetup.com , but check out our policies (http://hackerhours.org/policies.html). Also, check out the homepage for Resources, Tutors, etc.

Please read our policies about the meetup but also posted below: https://hackerhours.org/policies.html Anyone is welcome, and everyone should feel welcome. Be respectful of one another. This is a small community and there is no room for jerks. Recruiting is only allowed if the position is for junior developers, apprenticeships or internships. We are also open to sponsorships (e.g. food + drink for an event) - get in touch! Messages to the mailing list and chat room must be relevant to junior developers in NYC (or location independent). Expectations of participants (no guarantee that we can solve any particular technical issue, etc.) Consequences for violation of policies, especially harassment of attendees. Notes: They have a bathroom and coffee shop on the first floor. The wifi is open 'CapitalOneBank' and doesn't require a password. Come meet up with others and work on your coding projects. Bring a laptop/tablet and get help and or give help. If you're job searching and or learning to code, fill out this form to share your feedback. We're looking to organize workshops and events with leading industry experts and bootcamp graduates. https://goo.gl/forms/vmhs2YnCuBrXy7RP2
